Experience a cornucopia of modern physical theater and mime. Enjoy our festival guests: Wolfgang Fendt, who has delighted the Dresden audience with his poetry two years before, Eric Wilcox from the US, Ewelina Ciszewska from Wroclaw, the ensemble of the Poznan Academy of Performing Arts and of course the ensemble of Mimenbühne Dresden and the host Ralf Herzog. A varied program with funny, poetic, lively and quiet moments.
The evenings of improvisational theater of the Mimenbühne are becoming very popular. Here, the audience determines what is played on stage and the performer set make this to skillfully and hilariously scenes. But only during the mime meeting the audience experiences such international bandwidth since all the invited artists participate actively. So many of the giants of pantomime you rarely see together on a stage. Be there and bring your ideas and creativity.
Based on the known system of theater sports Ralf Herzog has developed a style of play for the non-verbal theater. Basic skills of mime technique are necessary to jopin the workshop. The workshop will develop your trust in the imagination to respond at the moment and as a cooperative game, conscious acting and basic questions of dramatic scenes and stories. Tailored for pantomimes games are introduced and tested in the end. The workshop is preparing the impro show at the same day.
Dr. Ewelina Ciszewska is a lecturer at the Wroc?aw Puppet Theatre Academy. She combines many activities with great success. Ewelina Ciszewska is an art historian, actress, mime, director and choreographer. And she runs workshops in mime and has won numerous awards and scholarships, including the Award for Best Actor in Lower Silesia and the National Theatre award at a monodrama festival. Recently, she was successful with the project costume as a vehicle of time and space on the basis of the monodrama "Maria S." and the staging of "The End". The main aim of the workshop is training of stage acting and waking up the body thinking. Our body is an incredible space of knowledge about human being. Using it for art and in a more formal way by mime language brings new possibilities for creation of a virtual life not only by clear gestures, poses and stage presence, but first of all by emotions and drama themes expressed as a stage character. The workshop started with the basics and then progressed through elementary playing tasks to first attempts at creating a stage character.
In the realm of the devil the tone is understandably rough. The Big atrocities of devil is so immense that the lower status devils decide to overthrow him. Which utopias develop the devil for a new society of evil? Will they end in the same oppression as do the most terrestrial revolutions? Can there be harmony and happiness in hell? We proudly present a mime piece of Poznan Academy of Performing Arts, which was staged specially for this year’s mime meeting Dresden. Already in 2013 we presented a production commissioned by the festival and staged by the Jobel Center in Italy along with Dipika from India and Gregg Goldston from USA and was greeted by the audience with standing ovations.
Die Zauberflöte (magic flute) Ensemble of Mimenstudio Dresden November 8 - 8pm AUGUST Theater Dresden
The Servants of the Queen of the Night save the Prince Tamino from the wild snake. They gives him a picture of the queen's daughter. She sends Tamino to Sarastro, who trapped Pamina. Sarastro is cynically and arbitrary and lives in vain pomp. But Sarastro is also chief priest who performs his function humane, humble and subservient. This is not the only contradiction Tamino is confronted with. For example, the queen as of jealousy, greed and hatred out-eaten. In the opera by Mozart and Schikaneder the point of view is that of the prince who stands out as the story progresses to a higher moral, emotional and human spheres and thereby takes the viewer with him. Experience this wonderful performance, which was acclaimed by audience and newspapers and that became known as the most successful experiment in the recent history of mime.

"Pronk" is a wordless and funny performance which is full of action and fantasy. It tells the story of a young boy, Pronk, who struggles with his adult antagonist. The poor boy does not own anything but has made a puppet for his own pleasure and in his fantasy the puppet has a special power and is able to controll other people. Of course he will have some very nice and some very funny but also some unsatisfying adventures. He finds out how to get free ice cream, how to fly but he also gets the lesson that getting controlled by others is quite annoying. At the end Pronk and the man spend a peaceful day at the beach. However, it was so much fun to compete and struggle that they start again. “Pronk” is joyful to watch for both children and adults. But our young friends will for sure more identify with the smiling child.
