The Pantomime Festival Dresden invites a non-verbaltheater from our sister city on the Neva and it is not thefirst time. The piece "Confused in Syracuse" opens aPandora's box literally and right at the beginning. This isobviously not good idea and it is not getting better byrepetition - but funny already. It starts with an age-oldconflict: two women want the same man. That's enoughfor emotion, confusion without end - there are armiesascended, seduced, en passant murdered, hell fire, insectplagues and floods are evoked. And to blame for all ofthis is a somewhat confused centaur. But he is also a verypoor guy. If he is not taken by lightning, he is losing hisown backside. There is a huge confusion and thespectator has lots of pleasure. But it is also poetic andtouching - a contrast of emotions.
